About My Practice
Hello, I am so glad you have found my website and I would love to tell you a bit about my practice:
I am a fully licensed therapist who specializes in work with children, teens, and young adults. I am able to address a wide range of issues such as anxiety, trauma, grief, anger, depression, motivation, or relationship challenges. No matter the individual or age, my work is always grounded in the cultivation of a trusting and positive therapeutic relationship. This is truly the foundation from which all healing and change takes place. Additionally, it is due to this positive therapeutic relationship that I find clients of all ages want to continue coming to therapy.
Teens/Young Adults
When working with teens and adults, I always take a client centered approach and often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), and Mindfulness Practices. Additionally, I approach the therapeutic process from a strengths based perspective, which means that I draw on the strengths within the client.
Children (Ages 4-12)
Children have an astonishing ability to work through emotional challenges when they are given a safe and therapeutic environment. Unlike adults, children's verbal and cognitive abilities are still developing. For this reason, when working with children, I primarily utilize directive and non-directive play therapy as this is the "language" through which children communicate. However, every child is unique and has a unique set of needs, which I continually reassesses throughout the therapeutic process.
